The star of Morgan Taylor's dreamy show—a kind of musical storytelling with projected animation and live band—is Gustafer, a shy, slightly-high-on-something creature from the sun whom you will instantly love, in part because of the compelling songs that are his backdrop. Gustafer has been so popular (versions of the show have toured for three years and even opened for Wilco), he now has his own Off Broadway run. And that means that on top of a great animated story and compelling music, you also get magical stage images.
