Gustafer Yellowgold’s Wide Wild World Review
By Lydia Vanderloo

Gustafer Yellowgold is the anti-Barney, capturing winsome moments that are both pretty and a little wistful, rather than toothache sweet. Taylor reveals a kinship with contemporary psych-pop bands such as the Flaming Lips and the Polyphonic Spree and a marked fondness for the Sgt. Pepper-era Beatles, with pared-down arrangements anchored by acoustic guitars, handclaps, and light brass… Think of childhood favorites such as The Little Prince or Charlotte's Web, and you have an idea of the richness of Gustafer's Wide Wild World -- and the staying power of these songs.
